Stacks and yolks las vegas1/9/2023 ![]() ![]() You can see your food being cooked and because of the small size your wait staff is very attentive to your every need. The only knock: seating is limited, but that’s also what gives it charm. I didn’t have one this trip but saw plenty of them on the tables and they looked very good. Your entire breakfast is right there in the skillet. They have several different combinations, including the Hobo, 3 eggs with sausage and onion over home fries and cheese. They are also known for their Breakfast Skillets. Trust me, with these pancakes at Stacks & Yolks, Elvis will not be leaving the building. They have specialty pancakes as well like the Elvis, which is a peanut butter-type with chocolate, topped with bananas and whipped cream. This was basically like having a chocolate dessert for breakfast and there is nothing wrong with that. On another visit I had the Chocolate pancake with Nutella and whip cream. Lori also ordered a side of biscuits and gravy, which she said was very good as well. I was able to sneak a couple bites and it was just like eating a nice big slice of fresh warm pumpkin bread. My wife went with the pumpkin and enjoyed it very much. One of their most popular is Pumpkin or as our waiter described “a life changer.” They also have a Peanut Butter pancake. Here are some combinations I haven’t seen before: Orange/Cranberry and Lemon/Blueberry. This trip I went with the Red Velvet Pancakes, which were very good, but there are lots of other options. They have so many different kinds of pancakes. On my first trip I had the Ham & Eggs with a short stack of pancakes. But breakfast is served all day and so far it has been all about breakfast for me. So it’s nice to enjoy dinner here as well. ![]() This is different than most of the mom and pop places that generally just serve breakfast and lunch, closing at 3 p.m. I love breakfast and this is less than 10 minutes from me so I’ll be stopping quite often. One I stumbled upon is Stacks & Yolks (7150 S. Their waffles are made to order and available in chocolate, vanilla and marble (you’re going to want to get the marble.) The combo of a fresh hot waffle with a scoop or two of cold gelato is the perfect yin and yang.Recently I moved from the south end of the Las Vegas Strip to the southwest area of town, so now I get to explore a lot of new places I didn’t know about. Located in Container Park, Waffelato specializes in Hong Kong style egg waffles and Italian gelato. What is a waffelato? Exactly what it sounds like, a waffle with gelato. Go ahead and use your fork to scrape up that last little bit of cinnamon-goodness, we won’t judge. ![]() When you finish the waffle you will find a combination of butter and cinnamon left on your plate that will remind you of what is left in the pan after baking cinnamon rolls. You do not even need syrup to enjoy this delicacy. The crispy, crunchy outer shell is completely covered in cinnamon sugar and inside is a fluffy donut-like consistency. This plate-sized treat comes out with an ice cream scoop of melting butter on top. This is a match made in heaven – fluffy waffle meets cinnamon churro. If you are one of those people who can’t visit Disneyland without having multiple churros, then you are in luck, because you can now get your fix right here in Las Vegas in waffle-form at Stacks & Yolks. The specialty also comes with a side of their famous gritz so make sure you leave enough room to enjoy everything. The wings are crispy and “finger lickin’ good” while the waffle brings back memories of freshly made waffle breakfasts. You can order two or four wings to be served alongside a warm waffle that makes a piece of butter melt instantly. Whether you prefer to eat these together or separately, that’s completely up to you, but you’re definitely going to want to eat them. One of their specialties is the fried chicken & Waffle. The crevices are the perfect size for butter and syrup to melt into and they can be sweet or savory! No matter what type of waffle you prefer, we have three Las Vegas waffles to try in the city:įor the past 11 years, Gritz Café has been serving Las Vegas residents a taste of the South.
